Switching Gears: From North Korea to France

Hello, I have started a new book. It is called The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. This book focuses on two sisters who resist Nazi forces during the second world war. I am excited to read The Nightingale because it focuses on World War II, which is quite an interesting subject. In 2016, it won the Audie Award for fiction, which makes me excited to read the audio book. This book has earned a 4.6/5 star rating on Goodreads, which also makes me excited to read. I find resistance against Nazi forces a very interesting subject because back then, it was highly secretive- and even deadly.

I am interested to see how this book ends. So far, I have met the two main characters Vianne and Isabelle. They seem to lead similar lives, both in love and both facing past trauma from their mother’s death. The setting is in France, which makes sense given the World War II involvement. Again, this has many connections to life because this did happen in real life. Maybe not the exact characters, but many Europeans went through very similar journeys. Needless to say, I am very excited to switch gears from North Korea to France, and delve into the mysterious world of The Nightingale.
